A citadel is built , here we are somewhere in between the 12th and 13th century , the Almohads inaugurated it. And in the 16th century , more exactly around 1508 to 1541 ,the Portuguese have provided the citadel with a large tower engraved with a crest of the Portuguese king Emmanuel.
By the eighteenth century ,the fortress was transformed into a castle for the Alaouites who built a house called the Bahia from which the name "Dar Soultan" ,House of the Sultan .
Currently this monument has become the National Ceramics Museum.
And because a picture is worth a thousands words ,we'll leave you with some beautiful shots:
At first sight , it may look like some Dinosaur's foot, a weird one at least , but in fact this "Dino Tree" is 360 years old , and I wonder how many stories it would have said if it could speak!
It's worth a visit, a lot of amazing views and things to see. We couldn't show you everything because "Dar Soultan" is temporarly closed for renovation, All we shared are some old pictures we had. But we promise you that once the door's Museum will be opened we'll take more pictures for you.
